If you find that your hookah is not smoking to your satisfaction, there are several actions you can take:
Prevent Clumping
A key mistake that beginners make is during the packing of the tobacco. Break up the tobacco before putting it in the bowl to prevent clumping.
Disperse the Tobacco
If you have finished packing the bowl and poking holes in the foil, shake it a bit to disperse the tobacco. Also, you can turn the bowl upside down and blow through it to prevent the tobacco from getting stuck in the small holes at the bottom.
Clear the Base
Blowing out the smoke that collects in the base every once in a while will prevent it from becoming stale and harsh.
Subtract Coal
If you find the smoke to be too harsh, you can break up the coal and take a piece off.
Add Coal
On the flip side, if you are not getting enough smoke, putting more pieces of the coal on will increase it.
